Need some music to get you in the holiday spirit? Head over to the Mira Costa High School Orchestras' Winter Concert on Thursday, December 10 at 7:00 p.m. in the school auditorium.

The Philharmonic, Chamber and Symphony Orchestras will perform classical works by Dmitri Shostakovich and Antonín Dvorák, along with a few seasonal pieces, including Tchaikovsky’s Sleigh Ride.

Tickets, available at the door, are $10 for adults, free for students and senior citizens.

Recognized by the GRAMMY Foundation as among the top 3 high school music programs in the nation in 2014, the Mira Costa students continue to work hard to maintain their reputation for excellence. The Mira Costa orchestras have performed at nationally and world-renowned venues and events, including a six-city tour of the People’s Republic of China during the summer of 2014.

The students are currently fundraising to help with travel expenses for their next major appearance: Carnegie Hall. Part of the Distinguished Concerts International New York, 2016 Concert Series, the Mira Costa High School Orchestra and Band Concert Ensembles will give a solo performance at the world-famous Carnegie Hall on May 29, 2016.

The Mira Costa High School Auditorium is located at 1401 Artesia Blvd, Manhattan Beach.
