Get Ready for the MB 10K

Sep 28, 2015 09:22AM ● By Mb News Staff
This coming Saturday morning, October 3, will bring the 38th annual running of the Manhattan Beach 10K.

The treasured local race begins at 7:30am Saturday along Valley Drive and Ardmore near 2nd Street.

To register, you have only one option this week: Drop in at The Village Runner MB and sign up before the race sells out! There is no more online registration and no race-day registration. Don't miss out! (See the MB10K website.)

The course takes runners through downtown, back to the South End of the Sand Section, along Ardmore through the Tree Section, across Blanche and Bell to Rosecrans, and finally along The Strand for the last mile-plus, with a finish at the Manhattan Beach Pier.

Frequent racers know that a signature part of the 10K is the voice of Susie Young, who warms up the crowd and calls out to friends and neighbors, and who later announces seemingly ever runner as they finish at the pier. See more about Susie in DigMB's story from last year: "Manhattan Beach 10K's Vin Scully Makes Her Mark."

Of course, the MB10K is just the kickoff to a big weekend in Manhattan Beach. The Hometown Fair runs all day Saturday and Sunday. For more, see the Hometown Fair website
