Apr 28, 2021 09:41PM ● By Mb News Staff

The Beach Cities Health District has announced that vaccine appointments are available for Saturday at its AdventurePlex vaccination site in Manhattan Beach between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

Anyone living or working in L.A. County who is age 16 and older is eligible to make an appointment. Appointment times can be reserved at MyTurn.ca.gov.

The Pfizer vaccine is given at this location. Note that the Pfizer vaccine is the only vaccine authorized for youth ages 16-17. Minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who can provide consent for vaccination

Vaccines and testing are also available at Beach Cities Health District headquarters at 514 N. Prospect in Redondo Beach. This site offers the Moderna vaccine, so youth ages 16-17 are not eligible.

To sign up for a vaccine appointment at BCHD, call South Bay Family Health Care at 310-802-6170. COVID-19 tests can be scheduled by clicking here.

Mental Health Awareness

After a year of loss and isolation from living through the COVID-19 pandemic, many Beach Cities residents are emerging from the pandemic with mixed emotions, such as feeling overwhelmed, or even experiencing anger and depression.

Given that May is Mental Health Awareness month, BCHD is offering a variety of programs and resources available to community members during the month of May (and beyond). See BCHD's Mental Health Awareness Month resources here.
