Manhattan Beach Clarifies Face Covering Requirements During League Sports

Apr 23, 2021 07:23PM ● By Mb News Staff
Following the County Department of Public Health’s revision to the Reopening Protocol for Youth and Adult Sports Leagues, the city of Manhattan Beach has issued an emergency order specifying that active participants in league competitions are not required to wear face coverings.

However, those who are not actively participating in the competition - such as those individuals on the sidelines - must wear face coverings. See the emergency order on the city’s website.

Additionally, schools and recreational sports organizers are permitted to have more restrictive policies, where necessary.

For more specific guidance and information on safe mask wearing, please visit http://publichealth.lacounty.gov/acd/ncorona2019/masks/

The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health continues to monitor safety protocols to keep communities safe and will make adjustments as needed.
