Celebrate Veteran's Day at VetFest Beer-B-Que

Nov 02, 2018 08:51PM ● By Jeanne Fratello
Here's a way to honor veterans and enjoy tasty craft beer and barbecue: Head over to the VetFest Beer-B-Que, which will raise funds for veterans-related charities.

The event - presented by the Manhattan Beach Rotary Club and Kinecta Federal Credit Union in honor of veterans, active duty serviceman, and first responders - will be held on November 11 at Kinecta headquarters on Rosecrans from noon to 5:00 p.m.

It will feature craft beer tasting hosted by Rock & Brews, a Texas-style barbecue feast, and music from the popular "yacht rock" band Yachty by Nature (think late 70s-early 80s soft rock, such as Steely Dan, Toto, Christopher Cross, the Eagles and more).

Tickets to the event are $50 ($35 for veterans, active duty service members, members of the armed forces, and first responders). The ticket includes craft beer tastings, all-you-can-eat Texas-style BBQ with pulled pork and brisket along with all the fixin's, and the popular Cream’wich ice cream sandwiches (courtesy of Fishbar).

Craft beers available for tasting include Angel City, Absolution, Brouwerij West, Dudes, Common Space, King Harbor, LA Ale Works, El Segundo, Strand Brewing, Boomtown, Golden Road, Smog City, Mumford Brewing, and Three Weavers.

Come ready to dance, but don't worry about missing your favorite game - there will be big screens broadcasting all of the games of the day.

One hundred percent of ticket sales will benefit veterans-related charities Team Rubicon, Bob Hope USO, UCLA Operation Mend; and other local charities that the Manhattan Beach Rotary supports.
