Looking for ways to cool off in Manhattan Beach? We've got you covered.

Of course, when the mercury rises, the first stop you'll think of is the beach. But when you're finished with sand and surf, there are plenty of other "cool" ways to stay cool in town. Check out a few of them below:

Adventureplex: Bring the kids for fun and games indoors at the 16,000 square food Adventureplex complex. Bigger kids can enjoy the play structure as well as the rock climbing and ropes course; the little ones can have fun in Toddler Town. Adults will enjoy the healthy food offerings and free wi-fi.

Begg Pool: If you're looking for a dip in a clear, refreshing pool, check out Begg Pool. It's open for extended free swim hours during the summertime - for just a nominal fee per visit. Insider's tip: Buy a "fish ticket" that will give you $25 worth of entry passes for $20.

Ice Cream: Nothing beats a cold treat on a hot day! You can find tasty ice cream and more at Manhattan Beach Creamery (downtown near the beach), Gelato and Angels  (formerly Bonaventura Gelato Lounge, downtown near the beach), Baskin-Robbins (on Sepulveda), and Yogurtland (on Rosecrans next to Bristol Farms).

Manhattan Beach Art Center: Here's a way to get in your cultural fix while staying cool at the same time - Visit the Manhattan Beach Art Center to see the latest exhibits. From now through August 5, see the "Day in the Life of Manhattan Beach" art exhibit featuring contributions from artists and photographers all over town.

Manhattan Beach Library: There's always something good going on at the library. This month, check out Succulent Terrariums for teens (July 12), the Buster Balloon Show for kids (July 18), and the science fiction/fantasy book club "Saucers, Swords, and Specters" (July 30). Also, don't forget that the kids' Makermobile known as MakMo will visit on July 11. Just feel like sitting and gazing for a while? There's always a comfy chair where you can look straight out to the ocean, or enjoy the interior artwork.

Manhattan Village Mall: It may be under construction, but it's open for business. Stroll around to your favorite stores or simply relax in a comfy chair in the air conditioning. New for this month: Kelly's Beach Hut coastal gift shop will be offering a pop-up shop every weekend in July (located in front of Sephora).

'Where's Waldo' Hunt: Need an excuse to do some shopping in air-conditioned stores downtown? The 'Where's Waldo' Hunt will keep you and your kids busy. Get your passport at pages, a Bookstore, and start hunting for Waldo all over downtown.

2nd Half Sports Grill: Want to play some pool, air hockey, shuffleboard, electronic darts, or ping pong - while enjoying a cold drink or a special meal? 2nd Half is the place to be. This 10,000 square foot facility boasts 46 TVs, so you'll never miss your favorite game.
