MBUSD Board Looks to Approve Marquee Naming Rights to Kinecta

Manhattan Beach public schools could receive $150,000 if the school board approves a deal with Kinecta Federal Credit Union Wednesday at its public board meeting. The $150,000 would go into the general fund.

The three-year agreement, if approved, would give Kinecta other naming rights in the school district's athletic facilities. The $150,000 would be considered a donation and Kinecta would have a right to renew the agreement for another 3 years, according to the meeting agenda.

Other agenda items include voting on keeping the 2013-2014 staggered elementary school start times for Robinson Elementary School the same for the 2014-2015 school year and into the future until otherwise changed; approving the purchase of three textbooks for Mira Costa's new Introduction to Computer Programming and Apple App Design course, and approving the expense of tinting 15 classroom windows at Manhattan Beach MIddle School.

The board meeting for the Manhattan Beach Unified School District starts at 6:35 p.m., Wednesday, August 20 on the first floor of the MBUSD district office building at 325 S. Peck Ave.
