The New Yorker Magazine staff writer and author William Finnegan will be on tour promoting the paperback edition of his New York Times best selling surf memoir "Barbarian Days." Finnegan's writing is superb and even if you do not surf, the stories will instantly grab you. Raised in California and Hawaii, Finnegan started surfing as a child. He has chased waves all over the world, wandering for years through the South Pacific, Australia, Asia and Africa. He details the intricacies of famous waves and his own apprenticeships to them. A staff writer at The New Yorker since 1987, he now lives in Manhattan. RSVPs appreciated.
