Sep 25, 2021 10:08AM ● By Mb News Staff
The cars are returning! The Manhattan Beach Downtown Business and Professional Association (DBPA), along with the Manhattan Beach Police Department’s K-9 Foundation, will host their 3rd Annual Car Show in Downtown Manhattan Beach on Sunday.

This year’s event, to be held between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., will run east to west along Manhattan Beach Boulevard from Morningside Drive to Manhattan Avenue, and south to north on Manhattan Avenue between 9th and 12th Streets, which will be closed to through traffic.

Over 200 unique vehicles will be on display, covering a wide range of classics, muscle cars, hot
rods, exotics, imports, motorcycles, and more. Both the Manhattan Beach Police Department
and Fire Department will also be showcasing vehicles.

“The annual car show put on by the MBPD K-9 Unit allows the community to interact with local police officers in a fun environment and raises awareness for our hardworking K-9 partners,” said David Gibbons, an MBPD K-9 Officer, in a statement. “The event raises funds for our K-9 foundation, which supports retired police dogs with medical and living expenses. Funds also provide current MBPD K-9 teams with equipment, training, and could be used to assist the city with future purchases of additional canines.”

“This is a wonderful event that encourages families to stroll the streets of Downtown Manhattan Beach and support both a great cause and our local businesses,” said Jill Lamkin, executive director for the DBPA. "We will be providing face painters, a balloon twister and a scavenger
hunt with prizes to encourage families to enjoy the day.”

BOBS from Skechers is the primary event sponsor and will be hosting a pet adoption event with
cats and dogs outside their store at 228 Manhattan Beach Boulevard both Saturday and Sunday.

BOBS from Skechers will also host an artist sketching pets and will have plenty of treats on hand
for furry friends.

The Downtown Business and Professional Association is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving the needs of over 250 retailers, restaurants, and locally owned businesses. Its goal is to see all local businesses succeed and to bring more people into the community of Downtown Manhattan Beach.
