4th of July Golf Cart Parade Planned for Manhattan BeachJun 29, 2021 03:40PM ● By Jeanne Fratello
The golf carts are back: A parade of festively decorated golf carts will roll through Manhattan Beach on Sunday, July 4 at 1:00 p.m.
Residents with golf carts are welcome to join in; decorations are encouraged. Organizers are asking for a $25 registration fee, which will be donated to the Manhattan Beach Police and Fire Departments.
The parade will begin at Pacific Elementary School. The golf carts will roll through downtown Manhattan Beach, head all the way down to 8th Street in Hermosa Beach, turn back around and head up to Bruce's Beach in Manhattan Beach, and then circle back again to end at Metlox Plaza. (See attached map.)
The first golf cart parade, organized by Shawn Giaconi, took place at Halloween. (It was "a freakin' blast"). A second parade was planned for the holiday season but did not come to fruition due to the pandemic. Sunday's parade marks a return back to what Giaconi hopes will be a regular tradition.
