Manhattan Beach: Top Things To Do for the Week of November 8

What are this week's events in Manhattan Beach? You have plenty to choose from!

Parent Town Hall Event, Monday, Nov. 9: Don't miss the parent town hall event with the Los Angeles County Department of Health and the Los Angeles County Department of Education. Submit your questions in advance about COVID safety and the return to school, and tune in at 6:00 p.m.

FREE Ice Cream, Monday and Tuesday, Nov. 9 and 10: Free ice cream! Kinecta Federal Credit Union and the Manhattan Beach Education Foundation (MBEF) will be handing out the new yard signs and FREE ice cream. (Don't forget to donate to MBEF!) Families are asked to arrive by car and remain in the vehicle while proceeding through the traffic circle. The truck will make 40-minute stops at the following locations: 
  • Monday, November 9
    Grand View: 2:00pm - 2:40pm
    Robinson: 3:00pm - 3:40pm
    Pacific: 4:00pm - 4:40pm

  • Tuesday, November 10
    Pennekamp: 2:00pm - 2:40pm
    Meadows: 3:00pm - 3:40pm
    MBMS: 4:00pm - 4:40pm

Johnny Rockets Fundraiser, Monday through Wednesday, Nov. 9-11 Dine at Johnny Rockets between November 9-11 anytime between 11:00 a.m. – 9:00p.m. and 20% of proceeds will be donated to the Mira Costa High School Orchestra. Mention the fundraiser when ordering.

Veterans Day Ceremony, Wednesday, Nov. 11: The city of Manhattan Beach will hold a virtual Veteran's Day ceremony at 11:00 a.m.

Downtown MB Gives Back, Wednesday, Nov. 11: Support local businesses AND education on November 11 with Downtown Manhattan Beach Gives Back. For every purchase you make at more than 30 participating businesses downtown, a portion of sales will be given to the Manhattan Beach Education Foundation. Check this list for businesses and special items - in some cases they will give back 50 percent!

Spoon River and Brothers Grimm Spectactulathon, Thursday through Saturday, Nov. 12, 13, and 14: Don't miss the MIra Costa Drama/Tech's TWO amazing virtual productions. The Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon will be held on Nov. 12 at 7:00 p.m. and Nov. 14 at 2:00 p.m. Spoon River will be held on Nov. 13 and 14 at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are available here.

Gum Tree Give-Back, Friday and Saturday, Nov. 13 and 14: Shop at Gum Tree and they'll donate 10% of their sales to the Roundhouse Marine Studies Lab and Aquarium and Jimmy Miller Foundation. (Mention the giveback at checkout.)

Light Gate Sunset, Saturday, Nov. 14: Join community members at this famous twice-per-year event, when the sun sets perfectly through the Light Gate sculpture outside City Hall. Meet-up time is 4:30 p.m.

Holiday Open House, Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 14 and 15: Last but not least, don't miss the Downtown Manhattan Beach Holiday Open House. It's going to be two festive nights in downtown Manhattan Beach from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. Mark your calendars and we'll have some super-fun details coming soon (including some surprises!).
