Napolitano, Montgomery, and Fournell Lead City Council Race

Steve Napolitano, Richard Montgomery, and Grettel Fournell were in the lead as of Wednesday afternoon for three Manhattan Beach City Council seats.

The race pitted seven candidates against each other for three open seats.

As of Thursday afternoon, Napolitano had 10,929 votes (23.23%), Montgomery had 9,036 votes (19.21%), and Fournell had 7,040 votes (14.97%). 

Close behind were Joe Franklin (6,880 votes or 14.63%), Phoebe Lyons (6,131 votes or 13.03%), Mark Burton (5,574 votes, or 11.85%), and Chaz Flemmings (1,447 votes or 3.08%).

Fournell's lead over Franklin has narrowed - from more than 200 to only 160 at the latest update.

Napolitano and Montgomery are both current City Council members. Fournell is a nonprofit treasurer and budget consultant who has been a Manhattan Beach resident for more than 25 years.
