Kinecta Raises $13K for Children's Miracle Network

Oct 23, 2020 09:50PM ● By Mb News Staff
Kinecta Federal Credit Union has raised nearly $13,000 for childrens' hospitals in Los Angeles, Orange County and Santa Barbara by participating in the Miracle Jeans Day campaign benefiting local Children's Miracle Network hospitals.

The Miracle Jeans Day Campaign encourages employees of participating credit unions to donate $5 or more for the right to wear jeans to work one day. All the money donated goes directly to that credit union’s local Children’s Miracle Network hospital. More than 300 credit unions across the country participated in this year’s Miracle Jeans Day.

During the entire month of September, Kinecta encouraged employees and members to show their support for the organization by inviting members to make donations in the retail branches and Member Contact Centers. Additionally, Kinecta employees participated in the campaign by purchasing Miracle Jeans t-shirts and raffle tickets.

Kinecta also hosted a virtual event, "Meet the CMNH Miracle Champion Families,” in which three Champion Miracle Families shared their stories.

“I’m so proud of our team and members for stepping up to offer support to such an amazing organization instrumental in the lives of families dealing with health challenges,” said Latrice McGlothin, community engagement officer at Kinecta. “ A big thank you to each and every person who donated and participated.”

Kinecta has participated in the campaign since it was created in 2009.

Kinecta is one of the country's largest credit unions, with approximately $5 billion in assets, 22 branches, two retail mortgage centers, and 255,000 members nationwide.  Located in the South Bay for 80 years, its headquarters are on Rosecrans Ave. in Manhattan Beach.
