Kinecta Serves Free Meals to Military Service Members

To show gratitude for their bravery and sacrifice, Kinecta Federal Credit Union teamed up with Bob Hope USO to distribute free meals to approximately 150 newly enlisted service members and members from local branches of the military on September 10. The event was hosted just ahead of the 19th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorists attacks.

“Through this partnership with Bob Hope USO, we’ve proudly provided meal deliveries to hundreds of military service members each year,” said Latrice McGlothin, community engagement officer at Kinecta. “During these unprecedented times of social distancing and isolation, the support we provide these service members by keeping them connected to family, home and their country is more critical than ever before.”

The event took place at the military entrance processing center in El Segundo, the busiest in the nation, swearing in 12,000 Americans. It is the single largest volume MEPS facility in the country, where nearly 5% of all military members start their service.

Bob Hope USO is a private nonprofit organization that provides services and programming to members of the military and their families throughout Southern California.

The Manhattan Beach-headquartered Kinecta Federal Credit Union is one of the nation's largest credit unions, with approximately $5 billion in assets, 22 branches, two retail mortgage centers, and 255,000 members nationwide. Located in the South Bay for 80 years, Kinecta partners with, donates to, and invests time in more than 150 nonprofit causes.
