UPDATED: Keep Up with Cancellations, Postponements

Editor's note: This post was updated on Thursday, March 19, to reflect the closure of the Manhattan Beach Pier.
Across the city of Manhattan Beach, a wide swath of events and meetings have been canceled or postponed. We will continue to update this list as we get new additions.
Major School and City Cancellations and Closures
MBUSD schools will be closed and remote instruction will be carried out until April 14. Stay tuned for further developments.
The city of Manhattan Beach has proclaimed a local State of Emergency. Along with taking this action the city has moved to take the following steps:
- Closing City Hall and other city facilities to the public beginning Monday, March 16, until April 30 inclusive (city employees will continue to provide services);
- Closing the Manhattan Beach Pier until further notice;
- Cancelling all Parks and Recreations classes, parks/court reservations, organized sports, programs and activities until the end of April;
- Cancelling all Boards and Commission meetings, with the exception of the Planning Commission; and
- Directing staff to activate the Emergency Operations Center.
Additionally, the following spaces and facilities have been closed through the end of April:
- Joslyn
Community Center (and all Older Adult programming)
- Live Oak Rec Hall, Ceramics Studio, Live Oak Field and Dorsey Field
- Manhattan Heights Community Center and Baseball Fields
- Manhattan Beach Art Center
- Marine Avenue Park Baseball Field, Turf Field and Community Center
- Marine Sports Complex
- Begg Pool & Mira Costa Pool
- Begg Field
- Manhattan Village Field
- MBUSD Athletic Fields
- Mira Costa Tennis Courts
The city has established a dedicated phone number for at-risk older adults who may be displaced by the closure of the Joslyn Center and suspension of the Older Adults program. Contact the City for assistance at 310-802-5010.
Community-Related Closures
AdventurePlex will be closed through April 30.
The Beach Cities Health District has closed its Center for Health and Fitness (through April 30) in an attempt to protect its members whose average age is 65. Additionally, it has postponed or canceled all Beach Cities Health District public meetings and select events, volunteer trainings, classes and workshops until the end of April.
The Manhattan Beach Library will be closed until at least March 31.
The Manhattan Beach Farmers Market is suspended until further notice.
