It's the city's holiday gift to you: Free parking.
Starting on Wednesday, November 27, the city will continue its tradition of offering free parking over the holiday season.
The street parking meters and meters in city-owned parking lots will be "red-bagged" (free holiday parking) from Nov. 27 to Dec. 26, for a total of four weeks.
Although parking at meters is free, spaces still have time-limit restrictions (i.e. 2-hour parking) and visitors must vacate the parking space within the time limit or they will be liable for an “Over-Posted Limit” violation.
The state-owned meters at the Manhattan Beach Pier and Bruce's Beach lots, as well as the county-owned meters at the El Porto beach parking lot, are not included in the meter bagging.
