Get ready for some high-octane fun, as Mira Costa High School's Drama/Tech team presents the acclaimed dramatic comedy "She Kills Monsters."

"She Kills Monsters" tells the story of high school student Agnes Evans as she deals with the death of her younger sister, Tilly. When Agnes stumbles upon Tilly’s Dungeons & Dragons notebook, she finds herself catapulted into a journey of discovery and action-packed adventure in the imaginary world that was her sister’s refuge. Filled with homicidal fairies, nasty ogres, and ‘90s pop culture, the play honors the "geek warrior" within as seen through Dungeons & Dragons mythology.

The play will run from November 8-16 in the Mira Costa High School New Theater. Performance times are as follows:

Friday, November 8 at 7:30 p.m.
Saturday, November 9 at 7:30 p.m.
Wednesday, November 13 at 4 p.m.*
Thursday, November 14 at 6:30 p.m.
Friday, November 15 at 7:30 p.m.
Saturday, November 16 at 7:30 p.m.

Due to limited seating in the theater, tickets will be sold for specific dates and times. Take advantage of discounted pre-sale pricing by buying your tickets before 3 p.m. opening day.

Pre-sale tickets are available for $12 (adult) and $10 (student/senior) (with $1 additional for online orders). Tickets at the box office are priced at $15 (adult) and $12 (student/senior).

*November 13th will be a special student show with discounted $5 tickets for students (from any school). The $5 student tickets for this performance will be available only at the door on a first come, first served basis. Tickets for adults and seniors will be regular price and available online or at the door.

"She Kills Monsters" was the winner of the 2013 AATE Distinguished Play award. "It will slash and shapeshift its way into your heart," according to a New York Times review.
