October is here, and what better way to celebrate than with a great beer and tasty German food? Manhattan Beach brewers and restaurants have you covered:
Brewco is featuring rotating Oktoberfest tap specials all month long. (Did you know? BREWCO was recently named one of the top 10 restaurants that serve beer on the West Coast by Vacation Mode.)
Hennessey's Tavern is hosting an Oktoberfest dinner on October 10. It'll be a four-course meal that includes bratwurst, authentic pork schnitzel, and Samuel Adams beers at every course. The cost is $45 per person; call 310-546-4813 for reservations.
Rock'n Fish has an authentic Oktoberfest special that runs all through the month of October. Look for the Authentic German Schnitzel special with lingonberry preserves, served
with garlic mashed potatoes and dill and cucumber salad. Bonus: When you order it with the German Marzen Oktoberfest beer, you'll get $2 off the beer.
Simmzy's will be featuring Breadbar’s baked fresh daily pretzel "mustaches" as well
as bratwurst steam-cooked in Simmzy’s Beach Cruiser Blonde, then
charbroiled until hot and crispy and served on toasted ciabatta topped
with creole mustard, bacon onion jam, and parsley. Also look for Simmzy's 33 oz. custom “boots” of their freshly brewed Bierfest
Lager.
P.S. Manhattan Beach's own restauranteurs/brewers Michael Zislis and Mike Simms did a great interview with the Downtown Manhattan Beach Business and Professionals Association on their favorite Oktoberfest traditions. Read the full interview here.
