Your Weekend in Manhattan Beach: September 6-8

It's going to be another "happening" weekend in Manhattan Beach, with a handful of great events to keep you entertained.

Friday

6:30 p.m.: Unita hosts a grand opening of its new collaborative meeting/work space on Sepulveda. The Unita space features meetings rooms, a library, a podcast room and AR/VR room. It is located at 516 N. Sepulveda, formerly the home of Second Half and Mr. Pockets. The event is free but registration is requested.

Saturday

10:00 a.m.: Williams-Sonoma hosts a pizza-making class and party at its Manhattan Village Mall location for kids ages 8 to 13. The cost is $10 per child, with proceeds benefiting No Kid Hungry.

5:30 p.m.: Street Food Cinema and the Manhattan Beach Chamber of Commerce presents a movie and food truck event at the Westdrift Hotel with the movie Bohemian Rhapsody. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m., live music with Billy Lawler starts at 6:30 p.m., and the movie begins at 8:00 p.m. Advance ticket prices are as follows: Reserved section, $21; general admission, $15; children ages 6-12 reserved section,$11; children ages 6-12 general admission, $6; children 5 & under, free. Ticket prices at the door (limited quantities) are as follows: Reserved section, $25; general admission, $19; children ages 6-12 reserved section, $12; children ages 6-12 general admission, $7; children 5 & under, free.

Sunday

2:00 p.m. The Manhattan Beach Badminton Club presents its fourth annual Pub at the Club, a fundraiser for the MBBC's Junior Foundation for its special needs, para, veteran, and junior athletic programs. Tickets are $89 per person for a 2pm admission that includes unlimited food and beverage tasting and a souvenir glass. A limited number of “private tasting” advance tickets are available for $109, which offer an additional tasting of select beers, wine and food beginning at 1pm

4:00 p.m.: The 11th annual Taste of the South Bay will be held at the Westdrift Hotel, hosted by the L.A. Kings. The event features food and drinks and the opportunity to meet L.A. Kings players, all while raising money for the Kings Care Foundation and their support of local beach cities schools. Tickets are $100 for adults (includes food sampling and one drink) and $30 for kids under 12 (includes kids' meal and activities).
