Manhattan Beach's popular Begg Pool is now open for its summer hours.
(How do we know it's popular? Fun fact: In the 5-year history of DigMB, "Begg Pool hours" is one of the most searched-for terms that leads to our site.)
Here's what you can expect at Begg Pool this summer:
Recreational Swim (Rec Swim) runs daily at Begg Pool from June 17 through August 16, from 12:15 to 2:55 p.m. (special hours on July 4). For Saturdays and Sundays, rec swim will continue through September 1.
Rec Swim costs $5 per person, per visit.
Lap Swim at Begg Pool* runs from June 17 to August 15. The schedule is as follows:

Fourth of July at Begg Pool
The annual Begg Pool Fourth of July Pool Party will be held on Thursday, July 4, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. There will be water games, water balloon tossing, and music. Participants are welcome to bring a picnic to enjoy on the grass. Entry is $5 per person.
To save on frequent pool trips, consider buying a Fish Ticket. Fish Tickets cost $20 and are good for $25 worth of aquatic activities. The tickets can be purchased from Begg Pool staff, or in the Parks and Recreation Department at Manhattan Beach City Hall.
Begg Pool Rental
Begg Pool is also available for rental for private parties from June 22 through September 1. The pool rental times are Friday nights (4:30 to 8:30 p.m.), Saturday nights (3:30 to 8:00 p.m.), and Sunday nights (3:30 to 8:00 p.m.). The cost is $180 per hour for residents and includes pool lifeguards for up to 50 guests.
( The cost is $5 per person per session.)
