It's been called "an evening of glamorous, hilarious delight" - and it's coming to Mira Costa High School. From April 26 through May 4, Mira Costa Drama/Tech will present "The Drowsy Chaperone," a madcap Jazz Age-era musical.

The performance dates are as follows:
Friday, April 26 at 7:30 p.m.
Saturday, April 27 at 7:30 p.m.
Thursday, May 2 at 6:30 p.m.
Friday, May 3 at 7:30 p.m.
Saturday, May 4 at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

Discount pre-sale tickets will be available through April 26 at 3 pm at www.miracostadramaboosters.org. Pre-sale tickets cost $15 for adults; $10 for students/seniors (add $1 additional fee for online orders). Tickets at the box office will cost $18 for adults, and $12 for students/seniors.

Winner of five Tony Awards, including Best Book and Best Original Score, The Drowsy Chaperone is a loving send-up of the Jazz Age musical, featuring one show-stopping song and dance number after another.

The story begins with the houselights down, as a man in a chair puts on his favorite record - the cast recording of a fictitious 1928 musical. The recording comes to life and The Drowsy Chaperone begins as the man in the chair looks on. With two lovers on the eve of their wedding, a bumbling best man, a desperate theatre producer, a not-so-bright hostess, two gangsters posing as pastry chefs, a misguided Don Juan, and an intoxicated chaperone, the whole production adds up to a fun night of music and laughter.

Extra bonus: Family and friends are now able to pre-order flowers to be delivered to their favorite cast, crew and pit orchestra members with personal notes during any of the performances. Visit the flower pre-sale order form for more information.
