Kinecta Holding Professional Clothing Drive

Apr 08, 2019 11:00PM ● By Jeanne Fratello
It's spring, which means it's time to clean out those closets. From now through April 19, Kinecta Federal Credit Union is seeking donations for its 2019 Professional Clothing Drive to collect gently worn or new clothing, shoes, and accessories for men and women who are overcoming difficult challenges, entering the workforce after military service, or transitioning to a new job.

“Since the creation of our Professional Clothing Drive in 2013, we have donated 32,000 pieces of clothing to help those in need to enter the workforce and succeed,” said Latrice McGlothin, manager of community engagement at Kinecta Federal Credit Union. “We are thrilled to host this drive for the sixth year and we invite the community to join us.”

Through April 19, community members are invited to donate new or gently used men’s and women’s business clothing, shoes and accessories to the Kinecta Federal Credit Union offices. White-collar and blue-collar business clothing, shoes and accessories such as purses, ties, belts, and jewelry will be accepted. All sizes are welcome but plus sizes are especially needed. Items must be clean and without tears, missing buttons, or stains. Tax receipts will be available.

The clothing drive will support Working Wardrobes and The Unity Shoppe’s programs.

Working Wardrobes has changed the lives of nearly 100,000 men, women, veterans, and young adults by providing them with career training, job placement assistance and professional wardrobe services. This assistance helps get them on the path to entering the workforce and achieving self-sufficiency.

The Unity Shoppe operates a year-round free grocery and clothing store so people can shop with dignity for their basic needs.
