Mother's Market Opens in Manhattan Beach

Mar 16, 2019 11:26AM ● By Jeanne Fratello
Mother's Market, a Costa Mesa-based natural and organic foods retailer, has opened its newest location in Manhattan Beach. A grand opening celebration is open to the public on Saturday, March 16, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

The new 16,000 sq. ft. Mother’s Market & Kitchen features an indoor/outdoor café, juice bar, deli and a wide variety of grab & go items. Central to the store is its produce, which is always organic unless seasonally unavailable, always 100 percent non-GMO, and delivered six days a week. The store will also offer vitamin, herb, mineral, and sports nutrition selections; local beer and wine offerings; and will include many organic, bio-dynamic and sustainable options.

The new store, located at 1700 Rosecrans Ave., features a large new mural of the Manhattan Beach Pier.

“Mother’s Market & Kitchen selected Manhattan Beach as its next Los Angeles area location
because the community is focused on health, quality of life and relationships,” said Deborah
Rubino, chief integration officer at Mother’s Market & Kitchen and daughter of one of the
original 1978 founders.  “We look forward to providing our new South Bay neighbors the
highest quality organic produce, a wide selection of supplements and specialty items to meet
the needs of a variety of healthy diets.”

The new Mother’s Market Manhattan Beach store will also include a number of new products
first to market in the Los Angeles area such as The Positive Cookie, an LA-based company that produces vegan and gluten-free cookies with a positive affirmation in each package. Signature dishes at its cafe will include a seared cauliflower steak with mushroom ragu, chickpea potato cakes, and breakfast favorites served all day.

At a ribbon-cutting on Wednesday, local officials and business leaders gathered to welcome Manhattan Beach's newest addition and sample its offerings. Crowd favorites included the juice bar's "cold pressed liver cleanse," a bright-red cocktail of apple, beet, lemon, ginger, and parsley; and a vegetarian mushroom "burger."

Online ordering for pickup for both the restaurant and juice bar will be available to customers through ChowNow and the Mother’s Market website.
