Dine Out this Month to 'Make March Matter'

Craving a special treat? This month you can dine out and contribute to a good cause by ordering a "Make March Matter" special item at any of several Manhattan Beach restaurants.

During the month of March, Fishing With Dynamite, Manhattan Beach Post, Simmzy's, The Arthur J, and Tin Roof Bistro each have a featured dessert, 100 percent of the proceeds of which will go to Childrens Hospital Los Angeles. 

The special desserts include Fishing with Dynamite's chocolate pretzel bread pudding; MB Post's seasonal soft serve; Simmzy's M&M ice cream sandwich, The Arthur J's carrot cake; and Tin Roof Bistro's lemon meringue with bourbon-soaked buttercake.

"We're proud to be supporting CHLA again this year," said David LeFevre, who is chef/co-owner of Fishing with Dynamite, MB Post, and The Arthur J. "CHLA provides such vital services to kids in our community, that when we talk about how we can make an impact, it's really the least we can do."

Also in Manhattan Beach, a group of restaurants are donating a portion of sales of featured entrees to the Make March Matter campaign. Zinc @ Shade is serving blackened salmon penne pesto; Rock'n Fish is offering blackened Louisiana redfish; and The Strand House is featuring its muffaletta sandwich.

The Make March Matter campaign engages businesses and individuals across Southern California to benefit Childrens Hospital Los Angeles and raise awareness of childrens' health care needs. Now in its fourth year, the Make March Matter campaign has a goal of raising $1 million during the month of March.

Individuals can contribute to the campaign by participating in Make March Matter events or donating directly at Make March Matter.
