Mark your calendars, because there's something to do practically every minute of this upcoming holiday weekend - culminating in Manhattan Beach's beloved holiday fireworks display on Sunday night.

Friday, Saturday, and Sunday:
Christmas at the Pier: Manhattan Beach Community Church's Childrens Theater presents the original musical "Christmas at the Pier." The production takes place in 1944 during World War II, in the small town of Manhattan Beach, while the town is struggling to celebrate Christmas in the midst of difficult times. Then help comes from an unexpected source, and the entire town learns the lessons of hope and love. The show will be performed on Friday and Saturday nights at 7:30 p.m., and on Sunday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. Advance tickets are $10 and all seats are reserved. Email Karen Dawa. for information: [email protected]

Friday night:
Mira Costa Orchestras Concert: Join the Grammy-award-winning Mira Costa High School Orchestras for their winter concert starting at 7:00 p.m. in the Mira Costa auditorium. The event will also be live-streamed from their Facebook page. Admission is $10, and free for students and seniors.

Saturday morning:
Holiday Art Market: Support local artists at the two-day Holiday Art Market at the Joslyn Community Center. Shop local handmade artworks including ceramics, sculpture, jewelry and more by Manhattan Beach Parks & Rec students, instructors and staff. The sale will last from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

Saturday afternoon:
Cookbook Signing: At 3:00 p.m., meet actress and cooking star Tiffani Thiessen at Williams Sonoma at the Manhattan Village Mall, where she will sign her book "Pull Up a Chair." Thiessen, host of the Cooking Channel series Dinner at Tiffani's, is known for her classic-with-a-twist recipes and knack for hosting a good time. Tickets are $32.85 and include a copy of the book.

Saturday night:
Holiday Crafts: Get in the holiday spirit by making handmade crafts and ornaments with the whole family during the annual Manhattan Beach Parks & Rec's Holiday Crafts Night from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Enjoy sweet treats, hot cocoa, and a light supper. Also appearing: a special guest for a photo op with the kids.

Sunday morning:
Santa Cares: Families of children with special needs can experience the time-honored tradition of a visit with Santa during an event created just for them. The free event will take place at the Manhattan Village Mall near Macy's Women on Sunday morning from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. RSVP here.
