Celebrate Hanukkah With Latkes and Candlelight

Dec 01, 2018 10:21PM ● By Jeanne Fratello
It's Hanukkah, and what better way to welcome the Festival of Lights than to celebrate with latkes and candlelight? On Tuesday, you'll have the chance to do both in Manhattan Beach.

The first round of festivities will take place from 11:30 a.m to 1:00 p.m. at the Manhattan Beach Farmers Market, where Sara Mintz of Sara's Kitchen will host a latke tasting. On the menu: Freshly made latkes with housemade gravlax and horseradish creme fraiche.

After sundown, the celebrations will continue at 5:30 p.m. at Metlox Plaza, where the Jewish Community Center of the South Bay will host a giant menorah lighting.

Families are invited to enjoy this free community event, which will include Hanukkah candles and dreidel making, latkes and donuts, and a variety of games and activities.

For more details please call 310-214-4999.

The Jewish Community Center of the South Bay offers a wide range of services and programs that touch the lives of thousands in the South Bay community. The center's programs are expected to reach more than 2,500 children this year.
