Ready to ride? Sunday's Manhattan Beach Grand Prix will bring world-class cyclists to Manhattan Beach, as well as a variety of cycling, running, and family-themed special events.

The races will begin at 7:00 a.m., continuing on and off until late afternoon. The pro cyclists will be competing for purses from $5,000 up to $8,000; depending on the final number of entries.

In the middle of the day, the kids' bike races will start at noon, and the "Manhattan Mile" running race will begin at 12:30 (featuring a top prize of $1,000 each for the top male and female finishers).

The race course will run up and down the greenbelt parkway, closing down Valley Drive and Ardmore Ave. between 15th Street and Pacific Ave. The start/finish line will be located on Valley Drive just north of the Josyln Community Center

A Kids' Zone filled with games and kids' activities will be located on the greenbelt right across from the Joslyn Center.

Now in its 57th year, the Manhattan Beach Grand Prix draws elite cyclists from across the country. Chevron has been the lead sponsor of the race for the past 26 years.
