Ready to run the most iconic run in Manhattan Beach? Register now for the Manhattan Beach 10K run, and you can get a jump on super early-bird savings.

From now through July 10, race registration fees are $30 for adults and $25 for youth. The prices go up to $35 adult/$30 youth on July 11; and will rise to $40 adult/$35 youth on September 25.

The 41st running of the annual 10K will be held on October 6 at 7:30 a.m. Four thousand runners will wind their way through the streets of Manhattan Beach, ending up at the Manhattan Beach Pier.

The race is always held on the same weekend as the Manhattan Beach Hometown Fair, and it brings out crowds of spectators and running enthusiasts. Local bands line the race route to inspire the runners. 

A celebrated cadre of runners known as the P.I.E.R. Group (Participated In Every Race) has run every MB 10K since the race was founded. The P.I.E.R. Group can be recognized on race day by the color of their race shirt - theirs is printed on a different color to distinguish them from the crowd and to honor their commitment to the MB10K.

The MB10K is one of the few 10K races in the nation that is volunteer organized. Since the first race in 1978 it has been a volunteer effort on the part of the Manhattan 10K Race Committee, and no one gets paid for the work they do organizing the race. There are approximately 30 committee members and some have been with the race since year one.

Profits from the race go to local fitness-related recreation projects and college scholarships. Entry fees over the years have helped fund local par courses, the Mira Costa High School track, The Strand mile markers, the synthetic turf at the Marine Avenue soccer field, and the 2014 play structure at the Live Oak Park Tot Lot.

For those who want to register for the race in person, registration will be available at the Village Runner from September 1 through October 5. There is no same-day registration.
