Rotary Club Honors Student Artists

The Manhattan Beach Rotary Club honored 13 Mira Costa High School student artists and craftspeople with $100 scholarships at the Rotary Craftsman awards ceremony on Monday.

The awards recognize outstanding performance in the visual arts, including painting, photography, ceramics, cinematic production, and surfboard shaping.

"The members of the Manhattan Beach Rotary Club are honored to annually recognize the exceptionally talented student artists of Mira Costa High School," said Manhattan Beach Rotary President Mark Burton in a statement. "Our MB Rotary Club would also like to thank and recognize the exceptionally dedicated and committed Mira Costa teachers of the arts."

Students receiving awards included Amanda Murch (Art 2), Brynn Eichenlaub (Art 3), Renee Boettner (AP Art), Annika Hanson (Art), Chloe Crounse (Art), Elizabeth Terry (Painting), Fiona Nielsen (3D Fabrication), Michael Nissani (Ceramics 2), Kaitlyn Sciarrino (Broadcast Journalism); Oliver MIchelsen (Cinematic Arts), Jacquelyn Sparrow (Cinematic Arts), Ethan Goldman (Photography), and Kira Walker-VanAalst (Photography).
