What’s the latest in Manhattan Beach? Community members will have a chance to find out first hand this week at the annual State of the City event, to be held on Wednesday, February 7.
The event, which will begin at 8:00 a.m. at the Joslyn Community Center, is sponsored by the Manhattan Beach Chamber of Commerce.
In a departure from previous years’ events, this year’s State of The City is free to all interested attendees and will not require a ticket.
Leading off the event will be Mark Lipps, president and CEO of the Manhattan Beach Chamber of Commerce, along with speakers including Interim City Manager Bruce Moe; Manhattan Beach Police Department Chief Derrick Abell; MBUSD Superintendent Mike Matthews; and Carolyn Petty, COO of Kosmont Companies.
Additionally, Manhattan Beach Mayor Amy Howorth will moderate a panel featuring Bob Tarnofsky, the senior VP for real estate of Continental Development; Ann McIntosh, Manhattan Beach director of community development; Kelly Steinman, executive director of the Downtown Manhattan Beach Business and Professionals Association; Gretchen Tiernan, owner of Polish by Sand Spa; and Megan Richardson, owner of Sand Spa.
