Highest & Lowest Sales of 2017 in Manhattan Beach

Jan 04, 2018 08:50AM ● By Jeanne Fratello

2017 was another busy year for Manhattan Beach real estate. According to stats compiled by Manhattan Beach Confidential, the year 2017 saw 421 sales closed, the same number as closed in 2014, and higher by a few percentage points than both 2015 and 2016.

The top sale of the year was for 1000 The Strand, a corner lot of almost 5000 square feet near the pier. The closed sale of $21 million marks the high for the year for all of Manhattan Beach.

A close runner-up for the top mark was 814 Pacific Ave., which sold for $20 million.

Two sales of two-bedroom condos in East Manhattan Beach came close to one another as the least expensive sales of the year. The actual least-pricey sale of the year was 1501 Artesia Blvd. #1 at $768,000; followed closely by 1320 12th St. Unit F at $785,000.

Other interesting facts: There were 8 sales over $10M. More than half of all 2017 sales (232) closed between $2.000M-$5.000M. And almost two-thirds of homes sold in Manhattan Beach in 2017 sold west of Sepulveda (270 sales west, compared with 151 sales east).
