'Best of Manhattan' Awards Recognize MB Businesses

The Skechers crew celebrates its All-Around Best of Manhattan award

This year's awards and winners included:
The All-Around Best of Manhattan Award, for representing the best of business in Manhattan Beach: Skechers. The chamber recognized the locally owned Skechers organization for being "a pillar of our Manhattan Beach community and a standout in our business bubble," and for creating "a successful product, growth, and local employment...from humble beginnings to a $4-billion business worldwide."
The Bob Meistrell Local Legend award, recognizing an individual for a lifetime of work towards improving the community: Manhattan Beach historian Jan Dennis.
The Small and Mighty award for a small or individually operated business: The Ripe Choice catering company.
The Shop MB award to acknowledge an open to shop-front retail sales business with outstanding customer service: Wright's.
The Dine MB award, recognizing a favorite culinary experience: Mangiamo Ristorante & Bar.
The Home Sweet Home award presented to an individual promoting excellence in service and ethics within real estate, wealth management or mortgage profession: Matt Morris, Matt Morris Development.
The Making a Difference award, which acknowledges a non-profit organization: Manhattan Beach Education Foundation (MBEF).
The Healthy Living award, for an individual, business or organization dedicated to
helping others enjoy a healthy, active life: Kreation Organic Juicery.
The Woman-Owned Business award, presented to a women-owned business that is independently owned and operated by a female or females: Fit On Studios.
Outstanding recognition awards for Man’s Best Friend (Bay Animal Hospital), Best Cocktail (Strand House), Legendary MB (The Kettle), Hidden Gem (Puttin' On Productions - POPS), Kids Matter Too (Manhattan Beach Parks and Recreation Department), Home Away From Home (Shade Hotel), and Make Me Beautiful (Aqua Salon) were also announced during the night.
The event was sponsored by several notable businesses in the area including Chevron,
Skechers, City of Manhattan Beach, Kaiser, Torrance Memorial, and more.
