Sep 25, 2017 11:31AM ● By Jeanne Fratello
Update: In light of recent tragic events affecting the Manhattan Beach Police Department, this event has been canceled. The City of Manhattan Beach and MBPD are encouraging community members to attend Wednesday's candlelight vigil to be held at 6:30 p.m. at the Manhattan Beach Pier.

Looking for coffee and a good conversation? You'll have a great opportunity on Wednesday, October 4, when the Manhattan Beach Police Department hosts its annual “Coffee with a Cop” event.

The event will be held from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at the Bristol Farms at 1570 Rosecrans Ave. No reservations are necessary; just drop in anytime during the 8 to 10 a.m. window.

Coffee with a Cop is a community-based program designed to bring residents and police officers together for a casual meet-and-greet. This year's event will coincide with the 2nd Annual Naitonal Coffee With a Cop Day.

“Coffee with a Cop is a great way to bring the police and residents together to connect over a cup of coffee," said Manhattan Beach Police Department Chief Eve R. Irvine.

At the October 4 event, members from the detective, parking and animal control, patrol, and traffic sections will be on hand to answer residents' questions or just to chat.

The department aims to give members of the Manhattan Beach community an opportunity to have their voices heard, meet members of their police department, form partnerships to address concerns, and/or problem-solve.
