Jul 18, 2017 09:57PM ● By Jeanne Fratello
What is it that brings us all together? "Mawwage," of course - That and a free summer movie, "The Princess Bride," being shown downtown on Friday, July 21.

The free summer movie, sponsored by Nikau Kai Waterman Shop and Cafe and the City of Manhattan Beach, will be shown in the courtyard of the Manhattan Beach Library. Festivities will begin with music at 6:30 p.m., a princess/pirate costume contest at 7:00, a raffle at 7:30, and the main feature at 7:45.

All ages are welcome, and the movie event is free of charge. Participants are urged to bring blankets and beach chairs. Food and drink will be available for sale; picnics from home are also welcome.

Rumor has it that there may also be a special appearance by the Dread Pirate Roberts, according to Nikau Kai, but given the unreliability of pirates, no guarantees are being made.

The movie is the second of the summer movie series; the first of which was a screening of "Finding Dory" in June.
