Got a special father or father figure in your life? Manhattan Beach has just about everything you'll need to celebrate Dad on Father's Day, starting with a volleyball tournament and ending with a variety of dinner and drink specials for that special guy.
The City of Manhattan Beach's annual Father's Day Volleyball Tournament takes place on Sunday, June 18 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the south side of the Manhattan Beach Pier. This family-friendly beach volleyball tournament is a recreational tournament with pool play only. Entries cost $50 for 18 and under and $100 for a four-person all-ages entry.
Other Father's Day specials include:
Becker's Bakery and Deli has a variety of Father's Day choices, including "#1 Dad" cookies and an adorable hamburger cake.
Barsha Wines & Spirits is offering specially made (as well as custom) gift baskets for Dad, including a whiskey basket with chocolates and a flask. Also on tap: From June 16 to 18, when you buy Dad a beer flight, Dad also gets a complimentary glass of his favorite beer in the flight.
Lido di Manhattan Restaurant & Catering is serving up specials for Dad including a Surf & Turf Plate and a Prime Rib Dinner. Dinner is served at Lido from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Shade Hotel is featuring traditional brunch and dinner menus, plus several chef-created specials. Extra special for Father's Day: Treat Dad to two pints for a penny each. Also, all dads will be entered into a raffle to win a new pair of Skechers shoes. Father's Day specials include Breakfast Pizza (topped with savory speck ham, bacon, crispy potatoes, mozzarella cheese, pico de gallo, a fried egg and Fresno chili); Lamb Chop Benedict served with white cheddar and chive biscuits, hollandaise sauce and sautéed spinach; Chilaquiles Skillet served with crisp tortilla chips, house made ranchera sauce, cotija cheese and ancho sour cream with an over medium egg and garlic chimichurri; and Black and Blue Open Face Steak Sandwich with marinated skirt steak, bacon jam, garlic toast and chimichurri blackened fries. The menu will be served from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Two Guns Espresso is serving up its specialty coffee, natch, as well as dad-themed gifts including baseball caps, mugs, and a "Daddy Needs Coffee" t-shirt in little kids' sizes.
Yorktown (and Tabula Rasa) have an array of gifts for Dad, including surf-themed accessories, barware, home goods, skin care, and more. On Saturday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Yorktown is hosting a chocolate tasting with Chef Ryan Luttrell and his son and their out-of-this world space-themed chocolates, the perfect addition to a gift for Dad.
