Summer is here, which means it's time for fun and fitness at Begg Pool. Following a pool party to kick off the summer season on June 17, regular summer hours at Begg Pool will begin on June 19.

The Begg Pool summer kickoff party is a free party to be held on Saturday, June 17, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. There will be water games, water balloon toss, swimming, and music. No food will be provided, but families are invited to bring a picnic to eat on the grass area.

The Begg Pool summer pool hours will begin on Monday, June 19. The pool will be open for recreational swim on Mondays through Thursdays from 1:00 to 2:50 p.m. ($3 per person); on Fridays from noon to 4:00 p.m ($5 per person); and on Saturdays and Sundays from 1:00 to 2:50 p.m. ($3 per person).

These summer hours will continue through August 18 (weekdays) and September 3 (weekends).

Lap swimming times will be available from June 19 through August 19 for $4 per person during the following hours: Monday through Friday, 7:15 to 8:15 p.m.; Monday through Thursday, 9:00 to 10:00 p.m.; and Saturday, 8:00 to 9:00 a.m.

The Mira Costa High School pool will be open for lap swimming for ages 16-plus on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:15 to 7:00 p.m., and 8:45 to 9:45 p.m.
