What's your favorite way to enjoy Manhattan Beach? Share your Instagram photo with the hashtag #Manhappenings and you could win a gift certificate to a local downtown Manhattan Beach business.

The contest, open from now through May 31, asks Instagrammers to share their best Manhattan Beach moments on Instagram, use the hashtag #Manhappenings, and tag @MBParksandRec. Judges are looking for a visual perspective that represents the hometown feel of the city, from parks and open spaces to living the beach life.

When submitting a photo, you must specify which of three categories you are entering: Parks and Open Spaces, Beach Life, or Community Life. Parks and Open Spaces include outdoor living, parks, activities, vegetation, sports and play areas; Beach Life includes beach-goers, surfers, sports, sea life, sunsets and pier shots; and Community Life includes city or parks and recreation events, recreation classes, civic engagement, education, downtown, night life, neighborhoods and public art.

Your account must be public, and the photo must be an original shot taken by the contest participant. Entries must be high resolution photos taken within the Manhattan Beach city limits. All ages are welcome to participate. Photographers retain the copyright to his or her own work, but photo entries may be reposted and given credit on the @mbparksandrec Instagram account.
