Looking for authentic Italian cuisine, served in an intimate setting? Luca Manderino, the chef at the former La Sosta Enoteca, has just the event for you: He is offering a series of "pop-up" dinners at the Century Club, to be held on every Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from March 27 to April 19.
The dinners will begin at 7:30 p.m. and will include traditional Venetian cuisine, introducing some new items and including some of La Sosta's classics, served with special wine pairings. The cost is $100 per person, plus tax and tip.
"I wanted to introduce traditional Venetian food and take away the menu, which I consider a barrier to both myself and the guest," said Manderino.
Guests can expect to see many fish-based dishes such as baccalĂ alla vicentina (salt cod with polenta), bigoli in salsa (pasta with onion and anchovy), baccalĂ mantecato (salt cod whipped with olive oil), antipasto di piovra (an octopus appetizer), and risotto di go' (risotto made with Venetian striped bass).
