Whether you live, work, or play in Manhattan Beach, your 2017 calendar is looking busy. The city is filled with activities all year long - from hallowed traditions to new and innovative experiences. Mark your calendar now for these highlights:

January:
January 7: Opening reception for Pop-Up Art Show at Manhattan Beach Art Center.
January 13: Opening reception for Very Cinematic Narrative art show at Manhattan Beach Art Center
January 19: Life Aquatic storytellers event at Sloopy's.
January 27: 'Light Gate' sunset - one of only two dates per year where the sun is in perfect alignment with the iconic sculpture downtown.
January 28: South Bay Chili Cook-Off at the Manhattan Beach Fire Station, benefiting the Manhattan Beach Firefighters Burn Foundation.

February:
February 4: "Swing Night" fundraiser for Mira Costa Jazz 1 Band at Manhattan Beach Toyota dealership.
February 10-13: Free fitness weekend across the South Bay through Beach Cities Health District, including many favorite gyms and workout centers in Manhattan Beach
February 25: American Martyrs 5K

March:
March 7: Manhattan Beach City Council elections
March 10-12: Free fitness weekend across the South Bay through Beach Cities Health District

April:

June:
June 3: Manhattan Wine Auction at the Manhattan Country Club
June 15: Mira Costa High School graduation
June 17: Begg Pool summer kickoff party
