Free Holiday Parking To Lure Shoppers, Diners

Dec 12, 2016 08:52AM ● By Jeanne Fratello
Ready to do your holiday shopping and dining in Manhattan Beach? There's no need to scrounge around for those quarters for your meters this month. From now through December 25, the city parking meters will be covered with the famous "red bags" denoting free holiday parking.

Drivers are asked to note that although parking at bagged meters is free, spaces still have time-limit restrictions (i.e. 2-hour parking). Cars must vacate the parking space within the time limit or they will be liable for an “Over-Posted Limit” violation.

The state-owned meters at the Manhattan Beach Pier and Bruce's Beach lots, as well as the county-owned meters at the El Porto beach parking lot, are not included in the meter bagging.

For questions, please contact the Manhattan Beach Police Department at (310) 802-5160.
