Manhattan Beach Santa Float Returns

Nov 25, 2016 10:53AM ● By Jeanne Fratello
Santa Claus is comin' to town...and that means your neighborhood: The Manhattan Beach Santa Float will once again be touring neighborhoods across Manhattan Beach starting on Monday, November 28, 2016.

The route map and calendar can be seen at www.manhattanbeachsantafloat.com/routes/.
The Santa float will tour a different neighborhood for fourteen nights (excluding weekends), concluding on December 15. The float stops in the middle of each block for greetings and photo opportunities.

As always, there is no charge to visit the Santa float on its nightly routes.

The neighborhood routes generally start at 4:45 pm this year (note, Area 9 on December 8 starts at 5:30 pm). For Area 11, the Santa float will be stationary from 4:45 pm to 5:30 pm in the Manhattan Village neighborhood in front of the recreation center before moving on to the remainder of the Area 11 route.

To keep track of where the float is in real time, watch the "Live Santa Tracker" at www.manhattanbeachsantafloat.com/santa-tracker/

There will not be any rain make-ups this year, so if you miss your neighborhood visit due to weather, please use the Santa tracker to find the float on a neighboring route.

The Santa float is managed by the Manhattan Beach chapter of Kiwanis International. Kinecta Federal Credit Union provides the truck and driver that pulls the sleigh, the Manhattan Beach Police Department and Volunteer Police Auxiliary stays on watch to keep Santa safe, and many local organizations staff the float on its routes.
