Puttin' On Productions, the Manhattan Beach-based theater company, will hold their 2016 fundraising gala on Saturday, with a special ceremony honoring community philanthropists Adam and Debbie Goldberg, founders of Fresh Brothers.

The 4th annual Making Dreams Come True gala will take place on Saturday, November 5, starting at 6:00 p.m. at the Manhattan Country Club. Proceeds from the gala will help provide financial assistance for children and youth in need to participate in POPs' theater arts programs and youth and community theater productions.

The Goldbergs have been nominated to receive POPs' "Inspiration Award" for their contributions to the community and to the performing arts in the South Bay.

“We are extremely honored to be receiving POPs' Inspiration Award. As parents we appreciate how important the arts, and specifically theatrical arts can be for a child’s personal development as well as academic achievement." said Adam Goldberg. "We’re so fortunate to have such an amazing and accomplished program such as POPs right in our backyard, and we are looking forward to celebrating with family and friends at this year’s gala."

Part of the evening’s celebration will also recognize volunteer Arlene Vinzon with the 2016 Community Service Award. Over the past nine years, Arlene has donated her time and service to fill the role as ‘Props Supervisor’ through management, creation and procurement of props for over twenty productions.

“The annual gala is one of those special moments where we can come together with families and friends of POPs to celebrate and recognize the tremendous work and impact of such prestigious business leaders and philanthropists such as Adam and Debbie Goldberg, as well as invaluable volunteers such as Arlene Vinzon," said Julia Hayes Mirkovich, founder of POPs and owner of The Academy of Dramatic Arts (TADA!).

Mirkovich continued: "After launching POPs nearly ten years ago in the South Bay, we have seen the growth and explosion of talent from all of our students, across all ages. I’m proud that we are able to provide a highly integrated, professional and safe programming for children of all ages to explore their individuality and talent."

The gala will feature live music from POPs’ students and staff, a live and silent auction, a cocktail reception and dinner. Individual tickets are $100 and VIP tickets are $150 each.
