A parade Saturday morning kicks off the Manhattan Beach Hometown Fair, this year, on Saturday, Oct. 3.
The MB 10K begins at 7:30 a.m. sharp on Saturday morning, heading through downtown along Valley and Ardmore, then across Blanche and Bell, down Rosecrans, and through the Strand all the way to the finish line at the Manhattan Beach Pier.
Online registration is closed, but in-person registration and bib pickup is available through Friday at the Village Runner in Manhattan Beach. There will be no same-day registration.
Streets along the race route will be closed on Saturday, October 1, from 4:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., and “curb parking” will be prohibited on some streets. As runners complete sections of the 10K, the Manhattan Beach Police Department will reopen streets.
Following the race, runners can visit Shade Hotel, where the sky deck will be open and a "MB10K recovery menu" includes $6 mimosas, $4 beers, and $10 artisan pizzas.
The Hometown Fair will feature live entertainment, games, crafts, foods, and a beer garden and wine garden. The event kicks off with a parade at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday down Valley Drive. The fair is located along Valley Drive at Live Oak Park, Dorsey Field and the Joslyn Community Center.
Road closures will be as follows: From Friday, September 30 at 7:00 a.m. to Sunday, October 2 at 8:00 p.m., Valley Drive will be closed in both directions from Blanche Road to 15th Street.
From Saturday, October 1 at 7:00 a.m. to Sunday, October 2 at 8:00 p.m., 15th Street will be closed in both directions (from Valley Drive to Highland Avenue) and Valley Drive northbound will be closed from 11th Street to 15th Street.
There will be a free shuttle service leaving from Northrop Grumman Parking Lot 04 at the southwest corner of Aviation and 33rd Street (one block north of Marine) in Manhattan Beach next to the Chevron station. The shuttle will run every 15 minutes, starting at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday and 8:00 a.m. on Sunday (no shuttle service is available for 10K runners).
A free bike/stroller valet hosted by the Kiwanis Club of Manhattan Beach will be located at the Joslyn Center parking lot or near 21st street.
Finally, don't miss the Hometown Fair "after-party" at Four Daughters Kitchen. Starting at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, visit Four Daughters Kitchen for $2 Bud Lights and extended happy hour specials when you mention Oso Porto, plus Oso Porto gear on sale.
