Drink Wine and Do Good at Barsha

Jul 27, 2016 11:51AM ● By Jeanne Fratello
Want to do good while you're drinking or buying wine? Barsha Wines & Spirits is making it easy for you by collecting donations of both food and household supplies for Community's Child, a local program to support homeless women with children.

"The response has been very good," from the community, says Barsha owner Adnen Marouani, who along with his wife Lenora makes weekly runs to deliver the donations. He credits Lenora with the idea and the follow-through. "She's the thinker," he adds with a grin.

Household supplies that are needed for Community's Child transitional house include toiletries, laundry and cleaning supplies, kitchen accessories, bedding, office supplies, and grocery gift cards.

Acceptable food donations include dry rice, whole dried beans, canned tuna, healthy snacks, whole wheat pasta, and low-sodium canned goods.

Community's Child, which serves South Bay/Harbor area communities, is committed to helping homeless women with infant children, one of the community's fastest-growing and neediest populations. The organization provides safe living environments, training, and education to end the cycle of homelessness.

Barsha offers a wine and spirits shop, tasting room, wine club, and catering. The facility is available for parties and fundraisers.
