For 75 years, the Manhattan Beach Department of Parks and Recreation has been serving the community; now it's time to party!

The Parks and Rec department will host a day-long party at Polliwog Park on Sunday, July 24, from 8:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. The event will offer family-friendly games and activities, fitness, sports, arts, aquatics, live music and entertainment throughout the day, local vendors and food.

Highlights of the day include cupcake making with Duff's Cake Mix, a "chalk walk" to decorate the sidewalk, and arts and crafts. There will also be free swim at Begg Pool, fitness classes, and a classic car show.

A series of bands will play throughout the day, culminating in an "All Band Jam" at 7:00 p.m., followed by cake.

You can track all of the latest activities and updates by following the hashtag #since41 on social media.

The Department of Parks and Recreation provides residents access to facilities for self-directed and organized recreation. It offers outdoor space for play and recreation, as well as community wellness programs, cultural exhibits, special events, and programming for all ages.
