Yorktown to Celebrate First Anniversary

May 18, 2016 06:45AM ● By Jeanne Fratello
The home design shop Yorktown will celebrate its first anniversary on Wednesday night with a party at its downtown Manhattan Beach location from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.

The party will feature exclusive artist pieces, as well as sips and light bites. The first 50 guests to spend $50 will receive a special take-home gift.

Several local artists and designers featured at Yorktown will be in attendance, including Jamie Dietrich, Jason Roose, Missy Patterson, Cherice Tatum, Shannon Wadsworth, Michael Harrington, Kris Klein, Wendy Stillman, Michael Graham, Susan Anderson, and Hansni Thadhani.

Ten percent of all sales during the event will benefit Walk With Sally.

Owner Maureen McBride opened Yorktown last year, 15 years to the day after she opened her first store, Tabula Rasa. "Where Tabula Rasa was all about my new beginnings in my career after the fashion industry, this is all about my whole new beginning and everything that I've been able to do since then," said McBride when Yorktown opened.

Yorktown, named after McBride's childhood home in New York, brings together local artisans and Fair Trade goods to give shoppers a unique hand-curated selection of home decor items.
