MB Post celebrated its five-year anniversary this week with an all-you-can-eat feast and fundraiser to benefit the Kings Care Foundation.

The artisan "social house" restaurant is often credited with starting a trend in upscale dining that put Manhattan Beach on the culinary map.

Dining options at the event included some of MB Post's most acclaimed dishes, including its Bacon Cheddar Buttermilk Biscuits (so famous they have their own Facebook page), BBQ Moroccan Lamb Belly, Truffle Honey-Laced Fried Chicken, and "The Elvis" for dessert (chocolate pudding with peanut butter mousse and bacon brittle).

Additional options included a raw bar from Fishing With Dynamite and a carving station with beef tenderloin and prime rib from The Arthur J - both of which are restaurants that chef/owner David LeFevre launched in Manhattan Beach following the success of MB Post.

Guests at Monday night's event included Manhattan Beach Mayor Tony D'Errico, City Manager Mark Danaj, the LA Kings Ice Crew, and L.A. Kings mascot Bailey.

"Tonight is just amazing," said LeFevre, as he looked around at the crowd feasting and socializing. He added that Manhattan Beach was exactly where he wanted to be: "I knew as soon as I arrived in Manhattan Beach that I wanted to live here and work here."

The restaurant opened in April 2011 with Michelin–starred LeFevre, a veteran of Water Grill and Charlie Trotter's. Operating partner and wine director Jerry Garbus, and Mike Simms of Simms Restaurant Group rounded out the team.

MB Post was named one of Los Angeles Magazine’s 2011 Best New Restaurants, 10 Most Memorable Meals by the Los Angeles Times restaurant critic S. Irene Virbila, and 10 Best Dishes of 2011 by LA Weekly restaurant critic Jonathan Gold. M.B. Post was also a semifinalist for the 2012 James Beard Foundation Awards in the Best New Restaurant and Best Chef Pacific categories.
