Tree Questions? Ask an Arborist

Apr 04, 2016 12:15PM ● By Jeanne Fratello
Manhattan Beach is home to beautiful trees as well as specific ordinances designed to protect those trees. If you have questions about how to care for your existing trees or plant news ones, you have the chance to get those questions answered by an arborist at a free workshop on Saturday.

The 'Ask an Arborist' workshop will be held at the Manhattan Beach Botanical Garden from 10 to 11 a.m. on April 9. Certified Arborist Louie Gamino of Enviroscape will be on hand to answer questions about climate-appropriate trees for the beach area, when to plant them, how to maintain tree health, and when to trim.

The workshop is free, but registration is strongly encouraged to ensure that enough handouts will be available. To register, leave a message at
(310) 546-1354 specifying the name of the workshop, your contact information, and the number of people attending, or email  [email protected].

The workshop is part of the city's Growing Green program designed to make the town as environmentally responsible as it can be.
Manhattan Beach has a tree ordinance designed to protect its local trees.
