New City Hours to Go Into Effect Next Week

Mar 14, 2016 11:22AM ● By Jeanne Fratello
Now that you've adjusted to Daylight Saving Time, it's time to adjust your calendars for the City of Manhattan Beach's new office hours: Starting next Monday, March 21, City Hall will be open longer hours on Monday through Thursday and will close every other Friday.

The new extended service hours will be Monday through Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Offices will be open on alternate Fridays from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The first Friday office closure date will be April 1.

As always, police and fire are available 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. In case of emergencies, residents are urged to call 911. For a non-life-threatening emergency on a closed Friday - such as fallen trees or utility line breaks - residents are asked to call Police Dispatch (310) 802-5159 to report the emergency and stand-by city staff will be available to respond as necessary.

Online services such as class registration, account management and bill pay will continue to be available 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.

Inspection services will be available Monday through Thursday every week and on alternate open Fridays. For significant, time-sensitive projects, inspection appointments will be available on closed Fridays. Builders are asked to call the Community Development Department Building Division Secretary at (310) 802-5505 for more information about requesting those appointments.

A full chart of the city's new office hours is available here. For more information email Kendra Davis or call (310) 802-5063.
