Costa2Carnegie Bake Sale at the Pier

Enjoy a sweet treat - and some sweet music - at the Manhattan Beach Pier on Sunday, February 28, as Mira Costa High School musicians host a bake sale for their Costa2Carnegie effort.
The bake sale and musical performances will take place between 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. at the pier.
The high school's GRAMMY Award-winning bands and orchestra program has been selected to perform at Carnegie Hall in New York City on May 29, 2016. The young musicians will be part of the Distinguished Concerts International New York, 2016 Concert Series. This prestigious series features world-class musicians at New York's most prestigious venues, and musicians and singers from across America and the globe.
The Mira Costa group will include 5 concert ensembles with over 260 musicians. They will perform a solo concert to an audiences of more than 1,500.
While the students are fundraising and donating their travel and lodging costs, additional expenses like instrument rentals and shipping, luggage fees, airline fees, additional meals and group t-shirts need to be paid for. Students have raised just under $22,000 of the $65,000 they need.
Past Costa2Carnegie fundraisers have included an E-Waste Event and a Gigs4Carnegie fundraiser. On March 11, students will hold a concert titled "An Evening of Eclectic Ensembles."
